Getting to Ketchikan, Alaska

The city of Ketchikan is located on a small island within the southern end of the Alaskan Panhandle. Revillagigedo Island having no bridges only can be accessed via plane or boat. Alaska Airlines provides the only jet service to Ketchikan by a 90 minute flight from Seattle, WA, or a 60 minute flight from Anchorage, AK.

If you have the time the Alaska State Ferry is a great way to get to Ketchikan. Traveling from the contiguous United States the ferry departs from Bellingham, WA weekly. The ferry travels through beautiful British Columbia before arriving in the forest covered islands of Southern Alaska. It takes less than two days to reach Ketchikan. Nearly every town in Southeast Alaska can be reached using this ferry. Many visitors and residents use this service as a way to see vast amounts of Alaska without having to take a notably more structured cruise ship.
